In a recent interview with NFL Insider Tom Pelissero, Kansas City Chiefs GM Brett Veach revealed that the Chiefs TE Travis Kelce was battling a major disease ahead of the Super Bowl LIX. The Kansas City Chiefs lost out on an opportunity to make history as the Philadelphia Eagles defeated them in a lopsided encounter.
Travis Kelce, who earned the record for most receptions and receiving yards for the Chiefs, is currently unconfirmed for the next season. The star tight end and three-time Super Bowl champion was expected to hang up his cleats after the Super Bowl LIX – however, the loss has toppled his plans. Nick Wright, a long-term Chiefs fan and an NFL panelist claimed that Kelce won’t retire in the face of one of the saddest moments in his playing career.
Brett Veach’s latest claim from the inside world is similar to what Wright has prophesied as well. Pelissero, in addition to his huge reveal about Travis Kelce’s major disease, also claimed that the team is expecting Kelce to return for the next season.
Speaking about Kelce’s illness, Veach admitted that they don’t want to expose it as an excuse but rather a mere fact. He went on to add that the Eagles would have defeated them even if Kelce was solid.
We’re never going to make excuses and talk about it, but he was battling with a pretty big illness there before the Super Bowl. But listen, the way the Eagles played, it wouldn’t have made a difference.

Veach also admitted to the reporters that he expects Kelce to return. He added that Travis Kelce left the season fired up as if he would be back to finish what they started.
How we left at the end of the season is that he was fired up. I think we left it as he’d be back and were excited to get him back and get him going.
