Former WNBA star Candace Parker has shared her feelings on Caitlin Clark with a six-word statement amid the latest controversy surrounding the Indiana Fever guard.

Clark is set to miss several games due to injury, but it’s been a dramatic start to yet another campaign as she’s wasted little time becoming the league’s main talking point.

The former Iowa star experienced extreme physicality entering the pros last term, and that hasn’t changed, although she’s dealing with it a lot better.

TMZ Sports caught up with Parker earlier this week and asked for her thoughts on the way Clark is being played in year 2 and delivered a terse message.

“Star players aren’t ever treated fairly,” she declared.

Parker’s take highlights the reality Clark will have to live with as a professional, especially one as talented as she is. Her contemporaries are clearly keen on forcing her to prove herself every night, so she shouldn’t expect anything to come cheaply.

Candace Parker, a three-time champion and two-time MVP, knows what it’s like to be a superstar in the WNBA, and she’s seen it in Caitlin Clark, whom she expects to have significant accomplishments.

“It’s awesome,” she remarked. “It’s great. I think she has so many more years to come of greatness. So it’s been good watching her play.”

As noted above, the Fever guard has been sidelined with injury. She’s set to be out at least two weeks, having gone seven straight years without missing a single game.

As for Parker, her number will be retired by both the Chicago Sky and Los Angeles Sparks this year, with the Sky to do so in a ceremony on June 29 and the Sparks to follow with their own on August 25.
